Nebraska Wesleyan is approved by the University Senate of the United Methodist Church.

Academic Programs are accredited or approved by the following:

  • Athletic Training: accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE)
  • Chemistry: approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS)
  • Education: accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and approved by the Nebraska Department of Education
  • Music: accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM)
  • Nursing: accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing
  • Social Work: accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)

Nebraska Wesleyan's Honors Academy program is an accredited member of the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP).

Nebraska Wesleyan University is authorized by the States of Nebraska and Iowa to operate educational programs. Approval from the State of Nebraska is maintained by the Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education, and in Iowa by the Iowa College Student Aid Commission.
