This course will provide students with a full understanding of professional advocacy, commonly referred to as lobbying. Through a series of lectures, course assignments, assigned readings, guest speakers, and professional development skill lessons, class participants will learn about all aspects of lobbying and the business of lobbying. Students also learn skills associated with being successful individuals in a business environment. Guest speakers may include individuals from a wide variety of professions considered to be leaders in their respective fields of business, law enforcement, the military, industry, elected officials, federal agency officials, lobbying, and congressional staff.
