NURS 3800 Introduction To Forensic Nursing Nursing Practice

This course introduces the student to the basic principles and responsibilities of the forensic nurse including: History of forensic nursing, nursing as it applies to the victims and families who experience violence and/or trauma. This is also inclusive of the accused and condemned who can also experience violence and trauma. This course includes types of injury identification; preservation and collection of medicolegal evidence; maintaining chain of custody, and an understanding of the multidisciplinary team focus.
