MGRMN 4150 is a dual-level intensive guided writing course designed to give students the skills and confidence to communicate more clearly and effectively in written German, focusing both on argumentative and expository writing as well as more explorative creative writing. The course includes thematic readings and advanced language study (vocabulary, grammar, spelling, and punctuation) to provide the framework to follow a process approach to writing involving brainstorming, free-writing, models, organizing, drafting and revising. MGRMN 4150 meets with MGRMN 3150, with differentiated assignment lengths and expectations by level.
Prerequisite(s): MGRMN 2020 German Stage 4: Global Connections or permission of the department chair.

MGRMN 2020 German Stage 4: Global Connections (4 hours)
Stage 4: Global Connections invites students to enhance their intercultural and linguistic competence by exploring cultural, geographical, historical, and social perspectives of German-speaking countries as they develop their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills and intercultural competence, thereby allowing them to engage and interact more effectively with native speakers of German.
Prerequisite(s): MGRMN 2010 German Stage 3: Cultural Perspectives or equivalent.
