MJPAN 4010 Advanced Japanese (2 hours)

Designed for students who have returned from studying for one year in Japan. This course aims to further develop overall language skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing in intermediate-high to advanced level proficiency in Japanese along with developing intercultural competency. Course may be repeated.
Prerequisite(s): Two semesters of study in Japan and instructor permission.

MSPAN 4280 Culture Of Spain: Speaking World I (2 hours)

MSPAN 4280 Cultures of the Spanish-Speaking World I is a dual-level course designed for students at the intermediate/advanced levels that introduces Hispanic cultures through authentic Spanish-language materials. Content may be organized by region, time period, or themes, such as diversity of people and geography, history, politics, education, religion, the arts, and daily life. By exploring culture through various forms, students will engage with diverse perspectives and deepen their understanding of the Spanish-speaking world. Instruction is in Spanish. MSPAN 3280 meets with MSPAN 4280, with differentiated assignment lengths and expectations by level. This course may be repeated. Prerequisite: Permission of the instructor.

MSPAN 4290 Cultures Of Spanish: Speaking World Ii (2 hours)

MSPAN 4290 Cultures of the Spanish-Speaking World II is a dual-level course designed for students at the intermediate/advanced levels that builds upon the foundation of 3280/4280 Cultures of the Spanish-Speaking World I, continuing the study of Hispanic cultures and broadening the understanding of the Spanish-speaking world. Instruction is in Spanish. MSPAN 3290 meets with MSPAN 4290, with differentiated assignment lengths and expectations by level. This course may be repeated.
