Theatre Arts (B.A.)

This major prepares students for graduate work in theatre in professional study in preparation for law, ministry, or teaching. It emphasizes cultural understanding, aesthetic sensitivity, and creative skill.

Theatre Arts Major (B.A., 38-40 hours)

THTRE 1300 Acting I	3 hours
THTRE 2000 Play Reading (Must be taken 4 semesters)	1 hour
THTRE 2500 Directing I	3 hours
THTRE 3500 Directing II	3 hours
THTRE 3800 World Theatre History I	3 hours
THTRE 3810 World Theatre History II	3 hours
Select one of the following: THTRE 1400 Stagecraft THTRE 1410 Costume Construction THTRE 2700 Approaching Scenography	3 hours
Select one of the following: THTRE 4800 Contemporary Theatre: Multicultural or THTRE 4810 Musical Theatre History	3 hours

Elective courses in theatre arts	9 hours
Any theatre course may be applied to the electives with the following exceptions: THTRE 1010 Theatre Appreciation will not count THTRE 1710-1800 Practicum courses are limited to a total of 2 credit hours toward the major
